Convention Operations Staff
Convention Operations (Con Ops) staff will find themselves in the center of all convention activities. Stationed in the Con Ops room, primary responsibilities include maintaining communications between all of divisions/departments using radios, cell phones, personal contact, in-house phones, or written messages. In addition, Con Ops staff maintain the radio check-in/out log, check in all staff members before the convention, answering basic questions for other departments (or finding someone who can), and handling all general tasks as they occur. Staff will work in pairs for shifts of 4 to 5 hours in length. Con Ops staff report directly to the Director and Assistant Director of Operations.
Ideal candidates possess work experience in customer service or an office setting. Must be responsible, very organized, able to multi-task, have neat handwriting, and the ability to speak clearly over a walkie-talkie radio.
All staff members are also required to adhere to the Staff Guidelines.
