Assistant to the Chair
The Assistant to the Chair is responsible for advising, assisting, and supporting the Convention Chair and Vice Chair as necessary and requested. In this role the Assistant to the Chair will be required to participate in all meetings, both online and in person, prior to, and at the convention. At the convention the Assistant to the Chair will shadow and provide support to the Chair and Vice Chair. While this position has no specific authority intrinsic to its scope it will provide a unique opportunity to directly observe the leadership roles of the convention and would prove a valuable experience to anyone interested in working at the division level in the future.
A successful candidate will have time available to attend the majority of the meetings and functions alongside the Chair and Vice Chair, professionally representing the organization when called upon to do so. They will also have time to accompany the Chair and Vice Chair at-con. No preference will be given to those who have at-con vs. pre-con duties, instead, all efforts will be made to shift your responsibilities to allow for the fulfillment of both roles, or to move you into a role that will accommodate the Assistant to the Chair position upon appointment.
